We’d like to inform you about the recent changes to YouTube’s Shorts policy* and provide guidance on Shorts Music revenue.

(*Starting October 15, 2024, you can upload Shorts videos up to 3 minutes long.)

Please review the information below and keep it in mind when creating content!

[Shorts Music Revenue Guidance in Light of YouTube Policy Changes]

If you use copyrighted music in Shorts videos longer than 1 minute, the video may be blocked from being broadcast.

Shorts Music is owned content, so if you include music in Shorts videos over 1 minute, the Shorts will be blocked from being broadcast, and you will not be able to generate revenue from the music.

To generate music revenue, you must continue to create videos that are 1 minute or shorter for proper revenue tracking.
